Gorgeous

I'm wearing Orly's Gorgeous today.  It's such a pretty magenta with a blue sheen!
Isn't that a gorgeous color?  It's even prettier in person!
It goes on easily and covers okay in 1 even coat, but in certain angles, it shows nail line, so I painted my left hand fingers first, then right, and immediately did a second coat starting with my left hand again.  My Seche Vite has gotten bit hard to use (time to thin it and get a new bottle ready), so I did 2 coats of Seche to even the mess that the Seche caused.  :)

Orly PreAmp

I painted my nails in Orly's PreAmp last night, and I've really enjoyed the color today, too, so I may even wear it through tomorrow, too!

My toes are a bright cheery cherry red (Pure Ice Siren).  I don't know why but I'm playing with my essie and China Glazes less and less lately, and trying out the cheaper nail polishes I've either never used, or at least haven't used in a long time.  I've liked changing to different colors.

I'm working 2 full days this week (for now... Hopefully more assignments will come up and I'll grab them!), and tutoring 3 days.  Thursday, I substituted and tutored, Friday, I substituted in the same class and babysat some of my favorite kids, and yesterday, I went to a baby shower.  Today has been a nice mild day.  I watched some football with Kev, read a bit, then got my week all written out in my planner.  I still need to update it all into the family Google Calendar, so I will likely do that tomorrow if I have time.

I wasn't feeling the black and white challenge tonight

I did do violet nails for today, but the challenge for tomorrow is black and white nails, and I'm just not feeling it.  I tried all of my white polishes and nothing was going on well, and well, I just don't WANT to do it.  Or gradient nails.  Or marbled nails.  Maybe I'm just tired?  I went to work (substitute teaching) today, so I left home at 7:30, took Lexie to school, and then went to the school I was working at, worked until 3:10, came home, and left again to tutor from 4-5:30.  After we got back home, we had dinner out, and since Kev works early tomorrow, I'm taking advantage of an early bedtime.  Well, early for me, anyway.  I'm wearing a dark red shirt tomorrow (subbing in the same classroom), so I picked a nice dark red polish with a subtle shimmer, and it's VERY pretty.  I don't know where or how we got this polish, but I'm sure I didn't buy it... It was probably one that Mom gave to Lexie or me, but anyway, I love the color, it goes on VERY well.  It's more sheer than any of my reds, but in 2 coats, it covers SO nice.  The brand is Jordana and I can't remember the name of the color, but I'll probably snap a picture and tell the whole deal later.  Tomorrow, as I said, I'm in the same classroom again, and after that, I'm going to babysit 2 adorable kiddos for a friend like I did last week, and I'm looking forward to it--- I love J and M!  They're SO fun!  4 years old and 2 years old... I love those ages!  10 years old is a fantastic age, too, and I've loved every stage Lexie's been at... But sometimes I'd love to go back to Lexie at 2 or 4 again for a few days.

Day 3

Day 3 is yellow.  I only have 1 yellow polish and it's a Sinful Colors art polish in Me First, so I paired it with LA Colors Tease and made a big ol' mess of it all!  But here you go!

Yellow Nail Poish

I have had SO much fun looking at the neat manicures that other ladies are posting for this challenge!  I'm a bit unsure what to do tomorrow, as I don't do yellow polish, but in looking online to see what pretty yellow polishes are out there, I found this:
Zoya Nail Polish in Pippa
If that isn't the prettiest pop of yellow I can imagine, I just can't believe it!  Unfortunately, since I live in a tiny town without a store which sells Zoya, or really any nice polishes other that what you can get at Sally Beauty Supply or Walgreens (China Glaze and essie are my favorites), I won't be using that shade of yellow--- I will, however, keep it in my "want" file!  I wouldn't have thought I'd like a yellow nail polish, but you have to admit, that's a beautiful shade!

Day 2

Today, we're supposed to paint our nails orange.  I *think* I have an orange essie polish, but I forgot until just now, but I also have China Glaze Harvest Moon and Finger Paints Iconic Orange.  A friend suggested that I use Harvest Moon, so I did.  When Lexie got home, and I showed her the challenge, she told me that she thought the Harvest Moon was more brown (it does have orange glitter, though), and suggested that I change it to Iconic Orange.  So, you get 2 orange polishes today!  I'm fairly new to all of this, and so far, I'm just doing basic colors, but I'll be learning new techniques as I go, and surely my manicures will be more adventurous and unique as I go.  Please be patient with me!  :)

Day 1!

China Glaze's Ruby Pumps.  It's by far my favorite red, especially since it's an awesome glitter jelly that doesn't take forEVER to dry, and thanks to Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat, it's so easy and quick.
Okay, so don't look around my fingers/cuticles.  I've not been kind to them lately.  Polish remover is harsh, but it's not what I can totally blame for this... because I have a tendency to pick or bite at them, and it's a BAD habit.  If I'm stressed, anxious, or frustrated, I take it out on my hands.  Since I know I'll be posting daily, I'm going to give a conscious effort at stopping that nonsense!  Promise!

31 Day Challenge

I'm going to attempt to do the Chalkboard Nails 31 Day Challenge.  It will be fun AND I'll learn more about doing my nails!
It looks as though sometime today, I'll be taking off my pink polish in favor of red!  I think I may use Ruby Pumps or Salsa by China Glaze... What do YOU think?
